Warren Haynes certainly kept himself busy at this weekend’s Wanee Festival. Not only did he perform with the Allman Brothers Band during their headlining sets on Friday and Saturday, he also sat in with Dumpstaphunk as part of the group’s Led Zeppelin tribute and guested with Umphrey’s McGee during their “All Night Wrong” cover set. If that wasn’t enough, Warren also led a Gov’t Mule set on Saturday.

Mule’s 12-song set at Wanee ’14 featured a mix of covers and originals. Haynes’s longtime Allman Brothers band mate Derek Trucks emerged in the middle of the set for a scorching take on Billy Cobham’s “Stratus.” Both axemen pushed each other to greatness as they delivered outstanding solos during “Stratus” that showed off what will be missed when they leave the Allmans at the end of the year.
