Courtney Marie Andrews released a performance video featuring a stunning rendition of Old Flowers track “Ships In The Night.” The video was filmed at The Parthenon in Nashville during a recent livestream special in which the Phoenix native played all of her 2020 album.

Old Flowers, which was issued via Fat Possum Records in July, is up for the Best Americana Album award at the 2021 Grammys. “This album is about loving and caring for the person you know you can’t be with,” said Andrews of the Andrew Sarlo-produced LP. “It’s about being afraid to be vulnerable after you’ve been hurt. It’s about a woman who is alone, but okay with that, if it means truth. This was my truth this year—my nine-year relationship ended and I’m a woman alone in the world, but happy to know herself.”

“Ships In The Night” encapsulates the feeling of heartbreak when a breakup is imminent. Courtney offered a solo performance of the song at The Parthenon in which her voice is accompanied by her electric piano playing.
