Watch Cory Wong Cover Paramore With Tema Siegel & Mark Lettieri In St. Louis

Guitarist Cory Wong initiated a run of shows with Snarky Puppy guitarist Mark Lettieri last night at The Pageant in St. Louis. Vocalist Tema Siegel of the opening band Couch joined Wong and Lettieri for a debut cover of Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun.”

Tuesday’s concert began with a composition written by Wong for the After Midnight television program. Wong and Lettieri are bandmates in The Fearless Flyers, whose song “Flyers Direct” fell in the second slot. The set rolled on with Wong’s “Flamingo” and Lettieri’s “Tidal Tail.”

Couch lead singer Tema Siegel then came back out for a two-song sit-in. Siegel first aided a performance of “Call Me Wild,” which appeared on Wong’s 2023 album The Lucky One and featured dodie.

Siegel remained onstage as Wong revealed they were going to attempt to perform a song for the first time. The collection of musicians then dialed up a cover of Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun,” with Siegel providing lead vocals originally sung by Hayley Williams.

After the guest spot, the rest of the main set was filled in with Wong originals, and an additional Lettieri composition. Wong and his bandmates held a post-set press conference onstage at The Pageant and for several minutes fielded questions from “members of the press” in the audience.

The guitarist then commenced the encore with “The Grid Generation” and concluded with one more Fearless Flyers selection, “Assassin.”
