Instrumental quartet Circles Around the Sun canceled tonight’s show at Bowery Ballroom in New York City and their Thursday’s appearance at the Catskill Jubilee Festival in East Durham, New York. The decision comes after someone in the immediate family of a band member tested positive for COVID-19. CATS’ announcement mentions the family member is vaccinated.

Circles Around The Sun consists of bassist Dan Horne, guitarist John Lee Shannon, keyboardist Adam MacDougall and drummer Mark Levy. John Lee Shannon was added to the band last month following the departure of Scott Metzger.

The four-piece plans to move forward with their September tour of California and Colorado. “Having to cancel after all we have been through the last few years just feels awful,” stated Circles Around The Sun. “Nonetheless, we feel like we’re making the right decision on behalf of both the band and our fans’ health and safety.”
