Christian McBride Big Band & Jeffrey Osborne Turn Up The Funk On ‘Kimmel’

Christian McBride Big Band was the musical guest on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The ensemble performed “Back in Love Again,” an L.T.D. cover featuring former member Jeffrey Osborne.
Grammy-winning bassist and composer Christian McBride and his Big Band included “Back In Love Again” on their new album, Without Further Ado, Vol. 1. The guest filled record contains covers songs, many of which feature some of the original artists who wrote and recorded them such as the lead single, a take on The Police‘s “Murder By Numbers” with Sting and Andy Summers.

McBride also worked with former L.T.D. member Jeffrey Osborne on the Without Further Ado, Vol. 1 version of “Back In Love Again.” The funk outfit had a hit with “(Every Time I Turn Around) Back in Love Again” in 1977. The Kimmel performance turned up the funk a notch on the number with a pocket groove from McBride, stellar vocals from Osborne and one Eric Krasno on guitar.
