Supergroup Goat Rodeo featuring cellist Yo-Yo Ma, mandolinist Chris Thile, multi-instrumentalist Stuart Duncan and bassist Edgar Meyer teamed up remotely to perform a set for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert video series. The quartet played three songs from their recently released Not Our First Goat Rodeo LP including one with guest vocalist Aoife O’Donovan.

Goat Rodeo kicked off their Tiny Desk (Home) Concert with “Your Coffee Is A Disaster,” the track that opens Not Our First Goat Rodeo. Chris Thile represented the band by discussing the genesis of each song between performances. Thile explained how “Your Coffee Is A Disaster” emerged out of a bassline Meyer wrote and then introduced “Waltz Whitman.” Aoife O’Donovan then joined the quartet for a finale of “The Trappings,” a song she recorded with Goat Rodeo for inclusion on Not Our First Goat Rodeo.
