From 1974 to 2016 Garrison Keillor created and hosted the live radio variety show A Prairie Home Companion. Keillor has retired and designated Chris Thile of Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers to take over as host of the show. Thile has announced the first musical guests for his term as host, Jack White and Lake Street Dive.

The Thile era of A Prairie Home Companion will begin on October 15 live from the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul. “Jack White is an inspiration—he plays, sings, and writes with every fiber of his formidable being. And my God, Lake Street Dive! I’ve never witnessed a group of musicians create and perform with a more united sense of purpose,” Chris said of the premiere episode.

Guests for the remaining fall broadcasts from the Fitz include Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and John Hodgman on October 22, and Esperanza Spalding and Aparna Nancherla on October 29, with more guests to be announced soon. Tickets to attend the live broadcasts in St. Paul are available here.
