Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell has revealed plans to release a new solo album Higher Truth on September 18. Cornell will set out on an acoustic tour of North America in which he’ll perform songs from Higher Truth as well as other cuts from throughout his career.

Produced by Brendan O’Brien who’s worked with the likes of Pearl Jam, Neil Young and Trey Anastasio, Higher Truth is Cornell’s fifth solo album and his first since the live 2011 LP Songbook. The Acoustic Higher Truth Tour kicks off September 20 in Los Angeles at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. For each show on the tour $1 from every ticket sold will benefit the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation. The run of theaters sees Cornell hitting up markets on both coasts with many stops in between. It concludes November 2 in Austin, Texas at Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater.

Tickets for the Acoustic Higher Truth Tour will be available via an exclusive presale for American Express cardholders beginning Wednesday, June 3 at 10 a.m. local time. Fans who today signed up for Chris Cornell’s email list received access to an exclusive presale that began today in advance of the public sale, which begins on June 5 and June 6. More information regarding tickets can be found at Cornell’s official website.
