A few days ago we shared videos from Phish creative partner David Gallo Design showing how the band’s incredible New Year’s Eve “gag” came together. The foursome and David Gallo Design also worked with choreography team The Kuperman Brothers to pull off the breath-taking spectacle at Madison Square Garden in New York City that ended 2016 and began 2017. The Kuperman Brothers posted a really cool video from rehearsals and the concert itself, which gives us yet another look at all the work that went into the “gag” that began with “Petrichor” and ended with “Suzy Greenberg.”

To review, at the start of the third set a group of dancers paraded at the front of the stage as Phish and their guests made their way through “Petrichor.” Some of the dancers, dressed in suites, juggled umbrellas as faux rain fell from a top the stage. The dancers pulled off a choreographed routine and when they eventually left the stage, umbrellas tethered to lines at the top of the stage did the dancing. Following a countdown to New Year’s that saw the stage enveloped by balloons of all sorts including ones shaped like cats and dogs, Phish and their musical guests lit into “Suzy Greenberg” as the dancers re-emerged. Here’s a look at the Kuperman Brothers’ dancers’ New Year’s Eve experience:
