Cass McCombs played his new single, “Priestess,” while making his Tiny Desk Concert debut. The singer-songwriter’s career-spanning set for NPR Music also featured longtime favorites “County Line” and others.
McCombs’ release of the studio single version of “Priestess” coincided with today’s arrival of his Tiny Desk Concert video. McCombs played guitar while backed by bassist Brian Betancourt, keyboardist Frank LoCrasto and drummer Austin Vaughn.

After kicking off with his new song, McCombs followed with his standout song, “County Line,” from his 2011 album Wit’s End. McCombs then pulled from his other 2011 album, Humor Risk, for its gem “Robin Egg Blue.” Going all the way back to his 2002 debut EP Not The Way, McCombs selected “Opium Flower” for the session’s final song.
