Jim James Sets Fall 2026 Solo Tour Dates & Shares New Single ‘Wowed Out’

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James recently announced his first new solo album in eight years, Wowed Out, arriving on August 28 through ATO Records. Today, the singer-songwriter shared the album’s title track along with a run of solo acoustic tour dates set for late fall 2026.

James detailed his new record and shared the preview “Come Again” in June. He now follows with “Wowed Out,” a “minimalist but strangely enthralling incantation of surrender to the sublime,” as per press materials.

“Lately I’ve been really into music like Alice Coltrane’s spiritual recordings, where it’s just her and organ praying together, and there’s no major event,” James noted on the inspiration behind Wowed Out. “I wanted these songs to feel like a journey that takes you somewhere rewarding, without always trying for some big dramatic payoff like a massive chorus or a huge guitar solo.”

Jim James will go coast-to-coast on a solo acoustic tour around the record, kicking off at the Brown Theatre in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky on November 28. The tour will also hit Chicago, New York, Boston and Boulder (Colorado).

“It’s always so exciting to be able to release new music out into the world, and I thought a fun way to celebrate the new album would be to do a solo acoustic tour, where I could play some of the new songs live, as well as other songs from throughout all of my solo albums, MMJ songs, a few covers, and other fun stuff! I can’t wait to see everyone out at the shows!” Jim shared in a social media post announcing the tour.

Grace Rogers, Ken Pomeroy, Lauren Frihauf and Jenny O. will support at select stops. James wraps the solo run on December 11 at Glendale Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles.
