Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band rescheduled dates for a pair of concerts at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia originally slated slated for August 16 and 18 that were postponed “due to Bruce Springsteen having been taken ill.” The bad news for fans is they will have to wait until August 21 and 23, 2024. The good news is that the rescheduled dates are the latest indication Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will continue to tour next year.
Springsteen and his longtime backing band kicked off their 100-show 2023 International Tour on February 1 in Tampa and have been on the road ever since outside of a few short breaks. The Boss brings his first tour with the E Street Band since 2017 to MetLife Stadium in his home state of New Jersey tonight, Wednesday, August 30 for their first of three shows in East Rutherford.

All tickets for the original dates in Philadelphia will be honored on the new dates. Tickets for Wednesday, August 16, 2023 can be used on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 while tickets for the Friday, August 18, 2023 concert will be valid for the Friday, August 23, 2024 show. Refunds are available for ticketholders unable to attend the new dates. Follow this link for instructions. Tickets for the rescheduled dates are on sale now via MLB Ticketing.
E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt addressed Springsteen's plans for 2024 on Twitter last month. “Right now it is a hope,” Van Zandt wrote at the time to answer a fan who asked about a 2024 Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Tour. “We are waiting for many complicating factors that are out of our control for a final decision. But if this miraculous tour miraculously continues, I cannot promise anything, but I will personally vote to include Finland! Home of the legend, Michael Monroe!”
The “hope” has turned into actual 2024 E Street Band concerts on the books. Getting together an operation of that size for a mere two shows seems extremely unlikely for both financial and logistical reasons. Stay tuned.
