Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers and Eggy began a two-night run at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, New York on Monday. Following a guest spot from Eggy’s Alex Bailey and Mike Goodman at the bands’ tour kickoff in Charlotte, more Eggy members joined Hornsby last night in Woodstock.
Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers set on Monday got underway with an Eggy–Noisemakers collaboration on Bruce’s 1995 album, Hot House. The Eggy members stuck around for “Preacher in the Ring, Part II” from Hornsby’s 1998 record, Spirit Trail.

While the Eggy members departed, a set-closing collab would come later as Hornsby continued with “Song C / Sad Moon,” “The End of the Innocence” and “Cast-Off.” Bruce then delivered his 1986 smash hit, “The Way It Is.”
Next, Hornsby switched from piano to dulcimer for “Shadow Hand,” “The Good Life,” and “Prairie Dog Town.” Eggy guitarist Jake Brownstein, keyboardist Dani Battat and Bailey then returned for a rendition of Hornsby’s “Candy Mountain Run.”
The collab seems to have been in the works as Eggy threw elements of “Candy Mountain Run” into their song “Shadow” during the bands’ tour launch in Charlotte on Saturday, as per thecarton.net. The performance saw Jake laying down funky guitar as Bruce and Dani provided a double key attack with Alex on backing vocals and percussion.
