Brooklyn Comes Alive will bring unique musical performances to three Williamsburg venues in New York City on Saturday, September 29. As reported, this year’s installment will host the first-ever land edition of Jam Cruise’s famed Jam Room. Organizers of the event revealed more details of what attendees can expect.

A pair of late night Jam Room sets will take place at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg with the first starting at midnight. Legendary bassist George Porter Jr. of The Meters will serve as host of the first set, while Turkuaz guitarist Craig Brodhead and Marco Benevento bassist Karina Rykman will co-host the second set.

“I am looking forward to bringing the magic of the Jam Cruise Jam Room to this year’s Brooklyn Comes Alive. It’s going to be funky and fun,” Porter Jr. said in a statement. Brodhead added, “If you’ve ever had the privilege of hanging in the Jam Room late into the night on Jam Cruise, you know there’s a lot to be learned from the experience. It gets weird in there. That doesn’t always mean good or bad, but one must always pass through the ‘Door Of Weirdness’ to experience the truly great improvisational moments. I am truly honored to be joining forces at Brooklyn Comes Alive with the incomparable Karina Rykman for a very special Jam Room modeled on this experience, and we’ll do our best to steer the ship and man the stations with the finest musicians Brooklyn will have on hand that evening!”

The fourth annual Brooklyn Comes Alive will feature over 50 musicians performing at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg, Brooklyn Bowl and Rough Trade. Attendees will receive a wristband allowing access to all three venues which are within a six-block radius of each other. Cory Henry, Marc “Brownie” Brownstein, Adam Deitch, Scott Metzger, Robert Walter and Nikki Glaspie are just a few of the artists set to perform at BCA ’18.
