Bright Eyes appeared on Monday’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The band’s first performance since November 2011 was of their new single, “Mariana Trench.”

Bright Eyes will include “Mariana Trench” on their 10th studio album Down In The Weeds, Where The World Once Was, which comes out Dead Oceans on August 21. The album was recorded by the core Bright Eyes trio of Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott, with drummer Jon Theodore of Queens Of The Stone Age (who also performed on Colbert) and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea. The record features the previously shared singles, “Persona Non Grata,” “Forced Convalescence” and “One And Done.”
