Bright Eyes released a lyric video for “Forced Convalescence,” the second single from their first studio album since 2011. The band — consisting of Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott — will issue an album via their new label Dead Oceans by the end of the year.
The trio previously shared “Persona Non Grata,” the first new Bright Eyes music in nine years. Oberst, Mogis and Walcott announced an extensive Bright Eyes world tour but plans for the run are “being reassessed while Covid-19 safety measures are in place.” However, the band still expects to release the long-awaited follow-up to 2011’s The People’s Key later this year.

Additionally, the track features a choir conducted by Jason McGee that features James Connor, Quishima Dixon, Natalie Ganther, Anthony Johnson, Edward Lawson, Jennifer Lee, Sharetta Morgan-Harmon and Marquee Perkins. Bright Eyes produced “Forced Convalescence,” which was written by Oberst and Walcott with Mogis handling mixing duties.
