Bon Iver delivered their first performance of 2024 on Wednesday at a rally in support of Democratic candidate for president Kamala Harris and her new running mate for vice president, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. Bon Iver founder Justin Vernon fronted a four-song set in his hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Justin Vernon has long been active in politics. Bon Iver performed in support of Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign in 2020. Vernon also founded the For Wisconsin get-out-the-vote organization in 2022.

Vernon and company kicked off their performance in support of the Harris/Walz ticket with “Towers” off Bon Iver’s 2011 self-titled album. The trio then turned to 2016’s 22, a Million with “666 ʇ.”
Next, Bon Iver took it back to 2007 debut album For Emma, Forever Ago with “Flume.” The performance wrapped with a rendition of “Battle Cry For Freedom” (also known as “Rally ‘Round the Flag”) written by American composer George Root in 1862.
