Bob Weir Performs In Tribeca | Wants To Re-Name RatDog

The guitarist visited HuffPoLive before the screening and sat for an extensive interview. Weir, who earlier this year told Gary Lambert that he intended to change the name of his RatDog band back to Scaring The Children, told the HuffPo host he still wants to change the name of RatDog. “We’re gonna change the name of RatDog because everyday things change, I’m tired of that name. I was thinking of Bobby & FUBAR, Bobby & the Werewolves,” Weir said. “I invite suggestions as well, go to our website. Let’s put RatDog to bed. I’ve got the right guys but not the right name.”
Watch the interview:
Bobby kicked off the set as he did many Grateful Dead shows with “Hell In A Bucket.” The guitarist worked through a number of songs from the Dead’s live repertoire before welcoming his RatDog band mate Steve Kimock for a “Playin'” > “Easy To Slip” > “Playin’ Reprise” sequence as well as a cover of “Jailhouse Rock.” Weir and Kimock returned for an encore that saw them work “Standing On Shaky Ground” into “Not Fade Away.”
Here’s a look at the setlist from Weir’s performance:
Hell In A Bucket, Peggy-O, Black Throated Wind, Loose Lucy, Corrina, When I Paint My Masterpiece, Playing In The Band* > Easy To Slip* > Playing Reprise*, Jailhouse Rock*
Encore: Not Fade Away* > Standing On Shaky Ground* > Not Fade Away Reprise*
