Bob Weir, Dave Grohl and more will perform for Aimee and John Oates’ Oates Song Fest 7908 virtual festival. The event will stream across a number of platforms via nugs.net on March 20 and will benefit Feeding America.
Also set to perform are Daryl Hall, Sammy Hagar, Jim James, Keb Mo, Shawn Colvin, Michael Franti and more. Co-hosting the event with Oates is MVP of Social Distancing and internet sensation Saxsquatch. The idea for Oates Song Fest 7908 came from a 2010 show John Oates conducted at the Historic Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado with the 7908 number deriving from Aspen’s elevation.

“Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic when it became clear that live shows would not be possible, Aimee and I pivoted to the idea of creating a virtual version for charity and ‘Oates Song Fest 7908’ was born,” John said in a statement. “This will be an entertaining and innovative way for the music community to share their songwriting creativity in an effort help feed Americas’ hungry families in need.”
