Black Pumas’ Adrian Quesada Releases ‘El Paraguas’ Single Featuring Gabriel Garzón-Montano

Black Pumas guitarist and producer Adrian Quesada shared a new single, “El Paraguas,” featruing . The song will appear on the Austin, Texas-based artist’s forthcoming solo album, Boleros Psicodélicos, due out via ATO Records on June 3.
Quesada announced Boleros Psicodélicos, a tribute to Latin America’s balada music, in late March and shared the single “Mentiras Con Cariño.” The Grammy-winning guitarist and producer now follow with “El Paraguas” featruing Gabriel Garzón-Montano.

“El Paraguas” translates in English to “The Umbrella” and Colombian-American artist Gabriel Garzón-Montano detailed the inspiration behind “El Paraguas,” to which he penned the lyrics.
“The umbrella is like a blindfold to the beauty and wonder of this world,” he said. “It’s a state of depression and limitation. It’s stronger than tinted glasses. It’s not outside my window, it’s falling from a structure I uphold. It’s a choice.”
“Gabriel Garzón-Montano is a rare talent, a musical chameleon that I’d always wanted to work with,” Quesada added. “He floats beautifully on a somewhat dense instrumental and brings a unique poetic approach to the song.”
