The Black Crowes Release ‘Waitin’ Guilty’ Outtake
One week from today, The Black Crowes will release Shake Your Money Maker 30th Anniversary reissues through UMe/American Recordings. The band’s latest preview comes with “Waitin’ Guilty,” a track featured as part of the set’s More Money Maker: Unreleased Songs & B-Sides compilation.
“Waitin’ Guilty” was recorded during the sessions that yielded the band’s 1990 debut album, Shake Your Money Maker. The Black Crowes released the track as a B-side and debuted “Waitin’ Guilty” live on May 17, 1990 as per Crowesbase. While the song quickly disappeared from the group’s repertoire, they revived the tune a number of times in the mid-2000s and again for five plays in 2010. A live version from 2010 appeared on the band’s 2013’s live album, Wiser For The Time.
Shake Your Money Maker 30th Anniversary is out on digital, 2-CD, 3-CD and as remastered LP and CDs on Friday, February 26. Super Deluxe Box Sets have been delayed to March 19th due to COVID-related manufacturing delays. The Super Deluxe editions contain the remastered original album, a collection of outtakes/previously unreleased tracks/Mr. Crowe’s Garden demos and a live album featuring the band’s December 1990 hometown concert in Atlanta. All come packaged with a 20-page book including liner notes by David Fricke as well as a Black Crowes patch, setlist and tour laminate as well as reproductions of a Mr. Crowe’s Garden show flyer.
