The Black Crowes brought out âs Peter Buck and Soundgardenâs Kim Thayil during their concert last night near Seattle. The collaborations took place as part of the eveningâs encore at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery Amphitheatre in Woodinville, Washington.
Buck was the first guest to emerge and added guitar to a performance of R.E.M.âs âThe One I Love.â Tuesdayâs collab appears to be the first time The Black Crowes covered the song by the fellow Georgia-born band. Buck stuck around as frontman Chris Robinson welcomed Thayil to the stage. The Soundgarden guitarist augmented a cover of The Velvet Undergroundâs âRock And Roll.â
âWeâre gonna do this song â in all of our respective bands, we grew up loving this group and this song and we hope you know it,â Robinson said while introducing âRock And Roll.â

Prior to the encore, the show started with a complete performance of The Black Crowesâ 1990 debut album, Shake Your Money Maker. The band followed with a handful of additional favorites, âThorn in My Pride,â âWiser for the time,â âBeen a Long Time (Waiting on Love)â and âRemedy.â The bandâs tour continues Thursday in Bend, Oregon.
