Billie Eilish Covers 1950s Jazz Classic ‘Cry Me A River’ In Austin

Billie Eilish altered the setlist of her concert last night with the inclusion of a performance of “Cry Me A River.” Eilish’s take on the Julie London-popularized song occurred during the show at Austin’s Moody Center.
The bluesy, jazz ballad was written by Arthur Hamilton and also recorded by Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Cocker, among others. London, who was Hamilton’s former schoolmate, released her signature version of the song in 1955. The original version was recorded by London with guitarist Barney Kessel and bassist Ray Leatherwood.
Eilish is on tour supporting her 2024 album, Hit Me Hard And Soft, whose track “Wildflower” recently earned Grammy Award nominations for Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year.
