Belle & Sebastian’s Stuart Murdoch Aims For ‘Bullseye’ With Lucy Dacus In Glasgow

Lucy Dacus kept her tour of Europe rolling with a stop at Barrowland in Glasgow, Scotland on Tuesday night. Dacus tapped Stuart Murdoch of Glasgow-based band Belle & Sebastian for her latest “Bullseye” partner.

Dacus recorded “Bullseye” for her 2025 album, Forever Is A Feeling. The record’s version featured guest vocalist Hozier, and Dacus has enlisted a growing number of musicians to provide the part while performing “Bullseye” in concert. Previous participants include Joy Oladokun at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Katie Gavin at The Met in Philadelphia and Hozier himself at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, among others.

Tuesday’s concert in Glasgow saw Murdoch emerge deep into Dacus’ main set at Barrowland. The Belle & Sebastian founder read the “Bullseye” lyrics while holding the book, What Are You Doing With Your Life?, that he kept in hand throughout his time on stage.

“I have a very special guest coming on stage tonight,” Dacus told the crowd. “Will Stuart Murdoch please join me. Stuart Murdoch is the singer of Belle & Sebastian. I don’t need to tell you, hopefully, this is one of the best songwriters ever. I played it cool earlier, but now I’m not. And he’s gonna do a Hozier impression.”

“Got to sing ‘Bullseye’ with her, that was fun,” Murdoch wrote of the experience. “The tune is tattooed in my brain for all time, even if the words are a little slippery.”

The next stop on Dacus’ tour is tonight at Manchester Academy in Manchester, England.
