Beck celebrates his 49th birthday by releasing a new version of his single, “Saw Lightning.” Dubbed “Saw Lightning (Freestyle),” the track is a stripped-down version of the single Beck unveiled in April. The original version is the first taste of a forthcoming studio album entitled Hyperspace.
Hyperspace, which will be issued via Columbia Records, is “due out sometime in the future.” Beck wrote “Saw Lightning” with Pharrell Williams. Pharrell provides drums, keyboards and “mumbles” on “Saw Lightning (Freestyle),” while Beck sings, plays harmonica and adds footstomps in place of the acoustic guitar found on the original.
