The Beach Road Weekend Music Festival canceled its 2020 event due to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. The festival was set to take place July 24 – July 26 at Veterans Memorial Park at Vineyard Haven in Martha’s Vineyard.

Beck, Lake Street Dive, Norah Jones, The Revivalists, Father John Misty and more were set to perform at the 2020 event. Festival organizers issued a statement regarding the cancelation. Read it below:

We are saddened to announce the Town of Tisbury has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Beach Road Weekend Music Festival. Innovation Arts & Entertainment (IAE), the producers of the festival, completely support this decision.

The safety of our fans, partners, artists, and staff comes above all and it has become increasingly apparent over the last few weeks that it would be extremely difficult for us to host a safe event on Martha’s Vineyard in the midst of a Pandemic.

To our valued fans, we are disheartened that we will not be sharing our summer with you. We know information regarding your tickets is important to you. All hotel packages and tickets will be fully refunded. In the coming days you will receive an email containing details regarding your refund.

We look forward to bringing back Beach Road Weekend in 2021 and seeing you all there!

IAE CEO Adam Epstein also spoke to the cancelation in a statement:

“Beach Road Weekend 2020 had a critically acclaimed lineup, and we were excited to build on the great fan experience we developed last summer, so we are obviously disappointed not to be able to finish what we started. But, we need to make sure that resources to deal with this pandemic are available for the people of Martha’s Vineyard, and also to ensure the personal safety of everyone who would have attended, the artists scheduled to perform, and our incredible festival staff.”
