Avett Brothers Debut New Song & Welcome Jim Avett At 2017 Red Rocks Finale: Photos & Videos

Americana act The Avett Brothers concluded a three-night, sold-out run at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on Sunday night. For the second show in a row, the band unveiled a new song and Sunday’s 33-tune performance also saw the group joined by Scott Avett and Seth Avetts’ father Jim Avett.

The Avett Brothers’ 2017 visit to Red Rocks was the band’s first three-night stand to reach 100 songs total as the group played 101 tunes in total as per Tales Of Avett News. Only three repeats were played over the course of the run and two new songs made their debuts. On Sunday, The Avett Brothers debuted “Orion’s Belt” towards the middle of the set. Each night featured a different opener with Shovels & Rope kicking off the action last night.

Sunday’s concert featured four songs a piece of The Avett Brothers’ Emotionalism, I And Love And You and Mignonette. The Avetts also gave the capacity crowd a taste of most other albums including two from last year’s True Sadness. Jim Avett emerged towards the end of the main set for “Standing In The Need Of Prayer” and “Take My Hand Precious Lord.” The finale also contained a bevy of covers such as Doc Watson’s “Country Blues,” Pink Floyd’s “Time,” Bob Dylan’s “I Shall Be Released” and Van Morrison’s “And It Stoned Me.”
