Singer-songwriter Austin Prince recently issued the single “Jesus When It Rains.” Today, the Oakland native released the track’s accompanying video.

“Jesus When It Rains” follows Prince’s previously shared single, “Sadie.” Prince detailed the making of the “Jesus When It Rains” video, which was directed by Henry Kinder:

My manager Kara and I flew out to New York in April to shoot the music video for “Jesus When It Rains” with someone whom I had exchanged phone calls and emails with, but never met in person, named Henry. Henry assembled all of the necessary equipment and a 13-member crew – also strangers. We shot the whole thing in six hours on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It was shot on film in an empty pool in Brooklyn, in 11 takes, and all hands were needed.

Prince has several performances scheduled in his home state of California, including tomorrow night (Friday, June 14) at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz and on June 27 at The Independent in San Francisco. Prince will also appear on July 3 at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma and on July 25 at the Cornerstone in Berkeley. He’ll also be at the Solaura Festival in Mendocino in September.
