On Friday night Joe Russo’s Almost Dead played their first of two shows at Concord Music Hall in Chicago that marks the Grateful Dead tribute act’s first performances outside of the Northeast.

The quintet of Joe Russo, Scott Metzger, Tom Hamilton, Marco Benevento and Dave Dreiwitz stuck to performances of Grateful Dead classics through the first two sets and then treated fans to an encore of Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder version of “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You.”
