The Arcs Cover ‘Watch Your Step’ for ‘Vinyl’

This week’s upcoming episode of HBO’s new series Vinyl will feature a specially recorded song by The Arcs. The Dan Auerbach-fronted group covered Bobby Parker’s “Watch Your Step” at the request of one of the show’s executive producers: Martin Scorsese.

NPR premiered the cover and asked Auerbach about the choice of the song, to which he reportedly replied, “What Marty [Scorsese] wants, Marty gets.” This week’s episode of the program that also includes Mick Jagger as an executive producer will also be soundtracked by recordings from Iggy Pop, Julian Casablancas, Alison Mosshart and Rosco Gordon.

Vinyl airs on HBO Sundays at 9 p.m. ET. The Arcs begin a tour on April 11 at Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, British Columbia. Keyboardist Marco Benevento will join the group for part of the run.
