Aqueous Shares New Single ‘Weight Of The Word’
By Andy Kahn Aug 14, 2017 • 11:30 am PDT

Aqueous has shared a new studio single entitled “Weight Of The Word.” The new track is the first studio output from the Buffalo-based quartet since 2014’s Cycles.
Breaking with their typical methods, guitarist Mike Gantzer, guitarist/keyboardist David Loss, bassist Evan McPhaden and drummer Rob Houk have yet to perform the new song live in concert. Aqueous self-produced the single’s recording, working in their hometown with mixing engineer Justin Rose at GCR Audio, while mastering was handled by Scott Hull. The band describes “Weight Of The Word” as:
An emotionally packed song, [that] covers all things that you’d expect from AQ: a fat groove, uplifting melodies, ripping but tasteful guitar and keys work, and lyrically speaking. We opened up to some unique inspiration in terms of what we were listening to when we wrote the song, and we all really worked as a unit to tap into the emotional aspect of the tune to deliver a performance and production that would match up with the purpose and content of it.
