New documentary-style live music television series American Music Spotlight premiered its first episode earlier this week on DirectTV4K. Widespread Panic, Yonder Mountain String Band and Greensky Bluegrass will be among the acts featured in future episodes.

“This series aims to be the craft-beer of music shows,” said creator Adam Paul of 7 Cinematics in a statement. “We’re keeping it authentic and not mass-produced, with lots of flavors and textures that make it feel homegrown and very intimate.” In addition to concert footage, each episode of American Music Spotlight features interviews with venue historians and band members. Later this year, episodes will also air on Nashville’s “The Circle” network.
