Last night, Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, California hosted the first of two Seva Foundation benefits celebrating the 80th birthday of counter culture icon Wavy Gravy. A capacity crowd witnessed sets from ALO, Steve Kimock & Friends and Doobie Decibel System Duo on Sunday night as Wavy watched from a perch on stage. ALO’s set featured multiple guest spots including one from guitarist Steve Kimock.
Kimock’s time on stage saw him add to ALO original “Storms & Hurricanes” as well as a version of the band’s beloved classic “Barbeque.” ALO and Steve Kimock segued “Barbeque” into a cover of Prince’s “1999” and then eventually worked their way back to finish “Barbeque.” Other highlights from the set included a cover of the Beatles’ “With A Little Help From The Friends” and a take on the original “Falling Dominoes” featuring bassist Bobby Vega.
