ALO returned to Camp Navarro in Northern California this past weekend for their traditional spot as co-headliners of Camp Deep End. The quartet brought out several guests to appear on Sunday afternoon during their third and final set of the intimate music festival, including The Real Sarahs to back them on a cover of the Thompson Twins’ 1984 hit “Hold Me Now.”
ALO — guitarist Lebo (Dan Lebowitz), keyboardist Zach Gill, bassist Steve Adams and drummer Ezra Lipp — kicked off their 90-minute set with “Get To Do It Again” off the band’s 2019 EP, Creatures Vol 1: Spark. Next, Kyle Ledson began the parade of special guests by joining ALO on mandolin for “Rewind.”

After the ensuing “Not Old Yet,” Hot Buttered Rum keyboardist Jeff Coleman lent a hand on fan-favorite “Plastic Bubble.” ALO went it alone on the “Keep On Giving Jane” that followed before 17-year-old guitarist Bella Rayne contributed to “Try.” The band also welcomed a young fan named Addison to show off air guitar moves using a stick.
The set rolled on with the aforementioned “Hold Me Now.” Zach Gill handled lead vocals on the Thompson Twins cover debut with The Real Sarahs (Sarah Larkin and Sarah Ryan) providing harmonies.

Zach Gill was also in the spotlight a few songs later as he fronted the new original “Friends.” ALO ended their time at Camp Deep End 8 with a well-jammed “Time Is Of The Essence” that encapsulated a cover of Steely Dan’s “Reelin’ In The Years.”
Camp Deep End was the last 2024 gig currently on the books for ALO. The quartet will perform aboard Jam Cruise 21 February 14 – 19, 2025.
