Neil Young Gives Bernie Sanders Permission To Use His Music

After last week’s dust up in which rock legend Neil Young blasted republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for using his song “Rockin’ In The Free World” at Trump’s campaign announcement without permission, reports have surfaced that democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders used the song at a recent rally –with Young’s permission.

As noted by Politicus USA, a press release issued by the Sanders campaign after a rally at Hamilton Gymnasium at the University of Denver, stated:
“This is an extraordinary turnout,” Sanders said as he surveyed the crowd after climbing onto the Hamilton Gymnasium stage at the University of Denver. Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” played (with the singer/songwriter manager’s approval) as Sanders was introduced to the standing-room-only crowd that spilled into an atrium and a nearby lacrosse field outside.
Watch footage of the rally (you can just barely hear “Rockin’ In The Free World” over the cheering crowd at about 6:10 in the video) captured by YouTube user Robert van Kaam:
