Eddie Vedder Listed As Final Letterman Musical Guest

This afternoon CBS has announced some of the guests who will appear on the final week of Late Show With David Letterman next week. Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is currently scheduled to be Dave’s final musical guest on Monday, May 18 and will be joined on the episode by actor Tom Hanks. The other guest announced today is Bill Murray, who will appear on Tuesday’s episode.

Wednesday’s finale will be “an hour filled with surprises,” so we’ll see what Letterman and his team have in store for the May 20th episode but we’d imagine it will involve at least one musical act. Consequence of Sound reports Vedder will be backed by Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra on Monday. Watch Vedder’s surprise 1996 debut on the Late Show in which he sang “Black,” the Pearl Jam tune Dave liked to sing himself from time to time on his program:
