Last night record label executive Clive Davis hosted his annual Grammys pre-party at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles that included a performance by Beck fronting members of Nirvana. Featuring drummer Dave Grohl, bassist Krist Novoselic, guitarist Pat Smear, a string section and Beck, the ensemble performed David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World.”

Beck handled lead vocals and played acoustic guitar on the title track from Bowie’s 1970 album. Nirvana famously covered the song during their 1993 recording session for MTV Unplugged in New York. The evening also saw Bleachers and Adam Lambert take on Bowie’s “Let’s Dance,” as well as performances by Earth, Wind & Fire, Carly Simon, and others.

Below are some photos and audience-shot video clips of the one-off supergroup’s tribute to Bowie.
