Candlestick Park in San Francisco was the site of the final officially ticketed concert held by The Beatles on this date 50 years ago. The show held on August 29, 1966 at the since razed sports stadium had not been publicized as being the last concert prior to its staging. A recording of that now legendary performance was made on cassette by their press agent Tony Barrow and has made the rounds as a bootleg release for years.
The Beatles played 11 songs over the screams of fans during their nearly 30-minute set. They opened with Chuck Berry’s “Rock And Roll Music” and then proceeded to play “She’s a Woman,” “If I Needed Someone,” “Day Tripper,” “Baby’s in Black,” “I Feel Fine,” “Yesterday,” “I Wanna Be Your Man,” “Nowhere Man” and “Paperback Writer.” The last song The Beatles performed at Candlestick Park was a take on Little Richard’s “Long Tall Sally” – which was partially cut from the tape Barrow made. His recording can be heard in the below YouTube embed:

Paul McCartney returned to Candlestick Park nearly 48 years to the day later, holding the final public event at the storied Bay Area venue on April 14, 2014. A video created for Paul’s “Farewell to Candlestick: The Final Concert” can be seen below showcasing rare clips of The Beatles from 50 years ago today:
As a bonus, legendary Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully told an amazing tale about The Beatles concert held at Dodgers Stadium the night before the San Francisco show. The 88-year-old Scully described the wild events from 50 years ago during yesterday’s Cubs vs. Dodgers game, detailing the great lengths the Fab Four had to go to in order to leave the stadium.
