Black Moth Super Rainbow Tour

Black Moth Super Rainbow
Creeping out from the dark woods of Pennsylvania into the perhaps-even-darker clubs and showplaces of America, Black Moth Super Rainbow act as a singular rhythmic unit to a backdrop of off-key lighting, original schizoid animation and thoroughly screwed video pieces, for no one in particular, but just for the pure, instinctual need to take the show on the road and feed that unique muse of theirs. With Tobacco, Seven Fields, Power Pill Fist, Ryan Graveface, D. Kyler and Father Hummingbird, Black Moth Super Rainbow's communal live show is a truly bizarre cocktail of visual and aural oddness.

Daydreamers School of Seven Bells co-headline this tour.

As previously announced, Black Moth Super Rainbow's Eating Us is out May 26 on Graveface Records.

"Black Moth crafts mind-blowing, interstellar psychedelic pop. Think Air, but peppier, Brightblack Morning Light but freakier." -- Rolling Stone

"Black Moth Super Rainbow, a band from Pennsylvania, makes its music from a nest of analog keyboards and a rhythm section. Its songs are pulsating neo-psychedelia, driving and dizzying, with vamps that keep on building as the keyboard sounds go whizzing, bubbling, zapping and swooping above the beat. Vocals are run through a vocoder for a vintage robotic tone... Above the band, a screen showed eye-popping video animations: wildly proliferating plants, cartoon people and food in metamorphosis. The band's albums revolve around stories and concepts - its current one, 'Dandelion Gum,' is a tale of witches in a forest - but onstage, its music was one glorious buzz." -- The New York Times

these guys are brilliantly twisted and lay down a truly unique sound with their use of vocoder and quirky synth. would love to see them trek up the eastern seaboard but for those of you who can catch 'em, be sure not to miss some legit up-and-comers.

this is my favorite band next to Phish and Ween. One of the best psych bands EVER. Period. I can only hope they get a smidgen bigger so they can truly put on a "show" that is worthy of their trippy songcraft.

C-BUS in the house. Here's hoping for Bonnaroo!

when i saw this band (at the abbey here in chicago) they played around a video screen hanging from the ceiling, which showed a bunch of wiiiild trippy visuals including a lotta weirdo death scenes from cheesy old horror movies; it sounds weird but it was all quite beautiful. while the music is soooo summer-y and seeing them outside would be fun, i'd think that audio/visual setup would work best in a dark enclosed environment. that said, i'm sure they'd kill it at a festie late-night slot...

This band knows the true meaning of psychedelic music. They opened up for the FLips in Sept. of 07 and played a solid show. I think in due time they will be recognized by the public.
