Mavis Staples Guests With Arcade Fire In Chicago

Arcade Fire's Reflektor Tour continued over the past two nights at the United Center in Chicago, where the band kept a trend of covering local artists going at each show. On Tuesday night Arcade Fire covered blues man Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?" as part of their encore and last night they welcomed Mavis Staples for a take on The Staple Singers' "This May Be The Last Time" that was followed by a cover of The Rolling Stones' "The Last Time."

Staples emerged towards the beginning of the encore after the "bobbleheads" faked out The Staple Singers' "Slippery People." Mavis led the group through her family band's "This May Be The Last Time," which she had a hand in recording back in 1955. From there, Mavis and Arcade Fire segued into the Stones cover, a tune Keith Richards had mentioned was based on "This May Be The Last Time." Watch how it went down thanks to phenomenal fan-shot footage by Nunu Zomot:

Arcade Fire wraps up their extensive tour with shows in Toronto tomorrow and in their hometown of Montreal on Saturday.
