Mavis Staples Guests With Arcade Fire In Chicago

Staples emerged towards the beginning of the encore after the “bobbleheads” faked out The Staple Singers’ “Slippery People.” Mavis led the group through her family band’s “This May Be The Last Time,” which she had a hand in recording back in 1955. From there, Mavis and Arcade Fire segued into the Stones cover, a tune Keith Richards had mentioned was based on “This May Be The Last Time.” Watch how it went down thanks to phenomenal fan-shot footage by Nunu Zomot:
Arcade Fire wraps up their extensive tour with shows in Toronto tomorrow and in their hometown of Montreal on Saturday.
