Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Shares Final Lineup Medley

Each Friday for the past five weeks the organizers of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass have shared a medley of 10 songs, each from a different act that will play this year’s festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park between October 3 and 5. Today, HSB organizers have posted the fifth and final medley with a full lineup announcement expected soon.

Last week’s medley contained songs from now-confirmed HSB acts Chris Isaak, The Sam Chase, Social Distortion, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down, Chuck Prophet & The Mission Express, The Waybacks, Jonathan Wilson, Dave Alvin & Phil Alvin with The Guilty Ones, Sun Kil Moon and X Acoustic. Those acts join the 30 previously announced Hardly Strictly Bluegrass acts including Ryan Adams, Dave Rawlings Machine, Hot Rize, Lucinda Williams, Tweedy, Emmylou Harris, Yo La Tengo, Cibo Matto and Shawn Colvin.

The 2014 installment of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass will take place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park October 3 -5. Warren Hellman, who passed away in 2011, founded and funded the free festival. It was first held in 2001 and has returned each year to Golden Gate Park.
