Jamtronica act The New Deal returned to the stage for the first time since January of 2012 this past weekend. The current version of The New Deal features original members Dan Kurtz and Jamie Shields joined by new drummer Joel Stouffer. In our recent chat with Kurtz he promised a whole new sound from the band this summer and fall and today we’ve got our first recorded taste of The New Deal 2.0.

The New Deal have launched a podcast series and the first installment features over an hour of music recorded at The Fillmore Silver Spring on Saturday night. With a setlist of just “Jam” > “Gone, Gone, Gone” we get to hear plenty of improvisation from the trio’s second set in Silver Spring. Check it out:

Yesterday, we reported on a set of The New Deal/Conspirator double bills set for Atlanta (October 31), Philadelphia (November 28) and New York City (November 29). Since then, The New Deal have revealed they will also play Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on October 30.
