Chicago’s Digital Tape Machine have followed up last year’s release of their debut studio album, Be Here Now, by unveiling a new, four-track EP called Omens as a free download/stream.

The EP features four new original tracks produced, written, recorded and mixed by the band. “The live show has become a major staple in the bands success, however this project started in the studio. The process of making music with seven members is something that could be challenging for most groups, but DTM has found great balance in this process. Omens is the result of seven different visions coming together to create one unified force,” DTM’s Dan Rucinski tells us about Omens.

The electronic dance act draws its members from many Chicago acts -Umphrey’s McGee, Strange Arrangement, Liquid Soul, Land of Atlantis and The Hue. Omens shows off the many different elements of electronic music the group has been working into their sound including intricate patterns and frequencies of house, funk, hip-hop, dubstep, electro, break beats and rock.

Omens can be downloaded for free here.
