On Monday night Phil Lesh & Friends made their debut at the historic Brooklyn Academy Of Music in New York City for the first of two consecutive shows. For the short run, Lesh is joined by guitarists Jackie Greene and Warren Haynes, keyboardist John Medeski and drummer Joe Russo.

The quintet Lesh assembled for the BAM shows, which mixes members of Phil’s bands from the last 14 years or so, presented a performance heavy on material from the Grateful Dead’s live repertoire. They also worked in covers of The Beatles’s “She Said, She Said” and “Tomorrow Never Knows” as well as takes on Cream’s “Sunshine Of Your Love” and “Blue Sky” by the Allman Brothers Band.
