Malkmus And The Jicks Mix Beck And Pavement In Chicago

Indie-rockers Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks are currently on the road in support of Wig Out at Jagbags. The tour took them to Chicago's Lincoln Hall last night, where they performed in front of a capacity crowd. The group, as they've tended to do at many of the shows on this tour, offered an impromptu medley as part of their encore. This time around the medley included portions of a pair of Beck songs as well as a Pavement gem.

As per Scents & Subtle Sounds, the band's set mixed material from the new album with tunes from previous efforts. Malkmus even shouted out Chicago hometown heroes Wilco by dedicating “Jennifer and the Ess-Dog” to them.

For the finale, Malkmus and his band played a medley of Beck's "Golden Age" and "Debra" that included a few verses of Pavement's "Gold Soundz." The group seemed to be having fun with the goofy and loose medley. Check out Scents & Subtle Sounds's video of the medley if only for the audio:
