There hasn't been much news about the status of the new Phish album, so we
were happy to see a Rolling Stone interview
with Mike Gordon about the LP and more. Gordon doesn't reveal too much, but tells the
the new album won't be exactly the same as the Wingsuit suite the quartet debuted
"What we did on Halloween was not exactly. . .it was a lot of what the album is, but not
exactly the same of what it's going to be. It might be a slightly different song selection
and a slightly different title. It's not all figured out, but since that week in
Nashville, I've been kind of out of the loop, although I am going back for something,"
Gordon told Rolling Stone's Patrick Doyle. He does mention two songs he wrote with Scott
Murawski have made the cut and says Phish had a great week in Nashville following
Halloween recording the album. Phish left room for such changes to arise by noting in the
Playbill distributed to fans in Atlantic City that the album was "tentatively titled"
Wingsuit and that "the majority (of songs) will end up on the new Phish album."
Mike also talks about his new album, Overstep, due on February 25th. For a taste
Overstep take a listen to "Yarmouth Road":
