Georgia jam-rockers Widespread Panic returned to Atlanta’s Philips Arena for last night’s New Year’s Eve festivities. Over the course of four sets, Panic welcomed many guests including the Megablasters horn section and even debuted four covers.

The band led a countdown into 2014 before kicking off the year in style with a cover of “Burning Down The House” by Talking Heads. The Talking Heads’s original version of “Burning Down The House” has been a staple for post-show PA music at past Widespread Panic performances, but last night was the first time John Bell and Co. actually played the Speaking in Tongues track. YouTuber Widespreadmusic has shared a fan-shot clip of the Bell-sung “Burning Down The House”:

Widespread Panic also debuted covers of Neil Young’s “Journey Through The Past” and “Time Fades Away” as well as Earl King’s “Come On.” Stream an audience recording of Panic’s NYE show at PanicStream.
