CHARLESTON'S CHAZZFEST

CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston Music & Heritage Festival, better known as ChazzFest presented by Digital Lifestyle Outfitters, announced its lineup for 2007.

Galactic
The second annual ChazzFest will be held September 22, 2007, and will feature a diverse schedule of musical genres and performers playing on four stages throughout the grounds of Family Circle Magazine Stadium on Daniel Island. Lowcountry artist and food will also be highlighted at the event.

Jazz icon, Branford Marsalis, and funk/R&B legends, Kool & the Gang, will headline this year's festival. In addition, ChazzFest will feature: Galactic, JJ Grey & Mofro, Toots and the Maytals, Soul Rebels Brass Band, Son Volt, Seldom Scene, The Lee Boys and Dottie Peoples, Chairmen of the Board and The Embers. Rounding out the bill will be local acts Quiana Parler (of American Idol fame) & Friends, Uncle Mingo, Davis Coen, Ann Caldwell and the Magnolia Singers.

"Consistent with the philosophy we established last year, we're bringing an eclectic mix of artists, while celebrating our roots" said ChazzFest promoter and partner Riddick Lynch. "Even though we set the bar high in our inaugural year, we feel this lineup is stronger in terms of depth and breadth. We're encouraging everyone to come early and stay late."

Tickets are on sale now and are available at select TicketMaster locations, on-line at Ticketmaster, through the Family Circle Tennis Center and by phone at 843-554-6060. Advanced ticket prices are $75 for reserved seats in the lower bowl of the Stadium Court Stage, $50 for center upper deck reserved seats and $35 for General Admission tickets. Advanced tickets for children ages 6-12 are $5, with children under age 6 admitted free.

Day-of event tickets will increase to $50 for General Admission tickets, $10 for children, $100 for lower bowl reserved and $75 for upper deck reserved, subject to availability.

The festival was created and produced by a Charleston-based partnership comprised of Rick Jones of FishBait Festivals & Events, Riddick Lynch of Shoreline Productions and Rob Lamble of Ear For Music. Please visit the Official ChazzFest website for more info.

Sorry about the unpleasantness, I was just trying to defend myself from an attacker and have a little fun as well. Very lame, no doubt.

Not as good a lineup as last year. Was hoping for a solid sophomore effort. Oh well can't win 'em all. The festival was very well done last year though, so if this lineup is to your liking, I highly suggest coming down.

And Uncle Mingo is not the best band ever out of S. Carolina. King Hippo was much better. Actually so was Captain Easy.

I believe Dudeski meant "FILTHY" as in "stank-ass nasty" or "really good"

Can't wait, I think this lineup is a step up from last year but to each his own. As a side-note, Charleston SC has the highest concentration of fine, hot-as-hell, cool-ass-chicks out of any city I have ever been. Remember when Daniel Island was just a piece of dirt in between the rivers?

Another great reason to visit Chucktown. Lived there for a couple of years, lovely ladies and cool atomsphere.
Be sure to check out Loose Lucy's, Downtown.

A step up from Sam Bush, Dumpstaphunk, Karl Denson Trio, Buddy Guy, and Al Green, The Drifters, and Drink Small? I think not. But like you said, to each his own. Buddy Guy by himself would be better (man was he good last year).
