Zac Brown Band Dusts Off Two Tom Petty Covers With O’Connor Band

The Zac Brown Band recently concluded a series of shows with special guests the O’Connor Band. Concerts held in Charlotte this past Thursday and Raleigh on Friday night as well as on Monday night in Virginia Beach found the acts collaborating on tributes to Tom Petty, who passed away a week ago today.
The first tribute to Petty took place on Thursday night at PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte. Zac Brown Band welcomed members of the O’Connor Band to the stage for a portion of the show that included a version of Tom’s “Runnin’ Down A Dream.” The ZBB hadn’t performed the Full Moon Fever smash since January at this year’s installment of their Castaway destination festival.
On Friday night the Zac Brown Band played Coastal Federal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh. Once again the group collaborated with the O’Connors for a portion of the show that featured a Tom Petty cover. This time around the ensemble treated the audience to a rendition of “You Don’t Know How It Feels” off 1994’s Wildflowers. Zac and his mates hadn’t performed “You Don’t Know How It Feels” since a 2013 show at Red Rocks as per Setlist.FM’s data. The Zac Brown Band reprised “You Don’t Know How It Feels” last night during the O’Connor Band’s final night on the road with the group in Virginia Beach.
