On Saturday night Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio played Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine with his Trey Anastasio Band outfit. Daphne Sciascia, a seventh grader, was on the rail and as per @PhishAtMSG handed Anastasio a letter and 20 minutes later Trey delivered one of his own to the youngster.
Daphne’s letter talked about how the seventh grader has been listening to Trey’s music since she was a baby. She mentions she had been to three of Anastasio’s concerts “and loved every single one of them.” Sciascia expressed that she is a singer and learned from Trey, “It’s easier for me to express myself on a musical level than with the English language.”
Trey penned a hand-written response to Daphne thanking her, “The kind words in your letter made my day.” Anastasio encouraged her to “keep singing!” and added “I do believe you can do anything.” He signed the letter, “with love and light.”
